Fake invoices have cost taxpayers $88 million over five years
Common consumer goods at extreme markups, advertisements on unknown websites that few have ever visited, and job advertisements for positions that have already been filled. This involves 7,000 invoices that are said to have been paid to companies behind various forms of so-called fake invoices. A total of SEK 88,448,617 has been paid out by municipalities, county councils, and government agencies.
