Reporting payment terms
On March 1, 2022, a law on reporting payment terms came into effect. This means that Swedish companies with more than 249 employees must report annually to the Swedish Companies Registration Office on their payment terms for purchases from companies that are smaller than themselves.
The reporting on payment times shall include three types of data:
• the average agreed payment time
• the average actual payment time
• the proportion of invoices that have been paid after the agreed payment time has expired.
Payment terms must be reported separately for purchases from companies with:
• 0–9 employees
• 10–49 employees
• 50–249 employees.
The report shall be submitted by September 30 each year and cover the period from July 1 to June 30.
